| Location |
With fabulous beaches with upbeat nightlife, Albufeira is a resort with a lot to offer.
The combination of a modern seafront with the cobbled streets of the old town make Albufeira an experience for all ages. Acres of golden sand at Praia d'Oura or the smaller, quieter coves tucked beneath the cliffs to the east. Once a quaint fishing village, Albufeira has retained plenty of Algarve charm, but now brims with a holiday atmosphere.
Summer holidays in Albufeira are all about lazy days on the beach, and pottering around the town, nosing into the shops and resting up at a sunny cafe. Down on the beaches, you might still spot the fishermen tending their boats, and you can take to the water yourself too as there are all sorts of watersports on offer. |

The region Algarve
In the south of Portugal, the Algarve has a large range of tourist attractions to satisfy all sorts of holidaymakers. The gentle, dry climate, white, sandy beaches, picturesque villages and friendly people have, since the sixties, attracted people looking for a holiday out of the ordinary. The Algarve is ideal for people wanting an active or golfing holiday. There are many interesting towns to visit, such as Albuferia, which is both a picturesque fishing town and a centre of tourism, Portimao, a lively city, internationally known, which has plenty of entertainment but is especially known for its beautiful beaches. Lagos is a historic city, the walled town was capital of the Algarve from the 16th to the 18th Century and is now a fishing port and important tourist centre, and there is Tavira, a historic, Roman town with many monuments, narrow streets and exceptionally good wine. Finally, Vilamoura, an important tourist centre with lots of beaches, 3 excellent golf courses, a casino and Roman ruins |
